Dynamic Softball Spring 2026

Dynamic Softball brings together athletes with and without intellectual disabilities to train and compete on the same team in a Adult Recreation League. Dynamic softball players can work to improve physical fitness, sharpen skills, and practice conflict resolution.

Dynamic Softball 2026 League Information

Dynamic softball will occur on Thursday evenings from 6-8PM at Caswell Park Ball fields (570 Winona Street) from April 2nd-May 28th. We ask that each athlete and partner plan to attend for every session, and to notify us beforehand if they will be unable to attend.
Teams

Inclusive teams must have and even number of Dynamic Athletes (DA) and Partners playing in the field.

If a partner is pitching, a DA must catch. If a DA is pitching, a partner must catch. The batting line-up must be organized as alternating between a DA and a partner. Example: DA, partner, DA, partner, etc.

Unique Rules

Assisted at Bat: after strike two is called the batter (Athlete or Partner) will be given a choice to take one more pitch from the pitcher OR hit off a batting tee. Batters are allowed one more foul, but after that whatever happens is final (Foul ball=out, swing and miss=out).

Partners can only advance as far as second base (unless the ball is hit out of the park as a home run). 2 HR allowed per game.

Athletes’s can advance as far as the play allows. Once the ball reaches the infield time is called out and runners can be returned to previous bases at umpire’s discretion.

Partners

Partners will serve as both mentors and role models throughout the competition.

Dominant play by a partner is not permitted. DAs must be allowed to play their position. This will be called at the discretion of the umpire.

At no time is it permissive to argue an umpire's call. Rule interpretations may be discussed, but only by the head coach.

Any DA or partner demonstrating unsportsmanlike conduct will be ejected from the game and asked to leave the playing area.

Note:

Program Notes

Game balls, bats, and gloves will be provided by the league for those who may need equipment.

NO METAL CLEATS! Only plastic or rubber cleats may be worn in this league.

Weather/Cancellation Policy
