Glazes and More: Surface Decoration!

In this class students will learn the difference between decoration slip, washes, underglaze, brush on glaze, dipping glazes, and luster! Each week will focus on a different technique to add color to your ceramic pieces so that at the end of the workshop you feel confident picking the best surface design for your piece.

You will need prior clay (handbuilding or wheel) experience to take this class. In the first class you will make test tiles and then you will have to work independently to make the pieces that you will apply surface treatments to. Rebecca will not be teaching handbuilding/wheel throwing techniques.

First bag of clay, all firings and independent studio included in cost of the price. You will need to purchase a respirator with vapor filter cartridges for this class – A link to order the respirator will be provided.
